According to Rule 3, each ‘Contestant agrees to be present for the filming of each episode in which they are eligible to compete, as well as the final awards ceremony. Failure to appear for filming will result in immediate disqualification regardless of reason as well as a $25K failure-to-show penalty.’ Because he fails to show up for the awards ceremony, Justin is disqualified and cannot win the $1 million dollar prize. (He is also subject to the $25K penalty, but the producers decide to waive this for public relations reasons.)
