Product Testing, Safety and Quality Assurance Manager

University Games Inc. is looking for a fully qualified Product Testing, Safety and Quality Assurance Manager

PURPOSE: 

Ensure the safety and quality of University Games production; Establish policies and procedures for the safety and quality testing process.  Establish policies and procedures to ensure factory social compliance, and manage product failures and corrective action.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Proactively work with regulatory authorities and third party testing laboratories to define and implement product compliance requirements

  • Manage UG annual product testing and certification program.  identify testing needs, arrange testing with factory and third party laboratories

  • Review and approve test quotes from test labs for accuracy and cost

  • Track testing status prior to ship date

  • Review Test Results; maintain test files

  • Generate CPC's, GCC’s and COC’s and provide upon request

  • Manage retailer specific testing process as required (Michael’s, Disney, etc.)

  • Communicate testing requirements for each brand. Update Product Safety Criteria annually.

  • Review new items in development and provide guidance regarding applicable safety standards and labeling requirements.

  • Ensure all product and packaging meets required safety standards including international customers. 

  • Define and implement UG integrity and social responsibility initiative with all current vendors; update annually.

  • Attend safety related webinars and safety conferences to keep current on regulatory updates and trends at federal and state level.

  • Conduct Product safety and Quality review meetings to provide product safety related updates and regulatory issues with Product Development Team.

  • Respond to all safety related complaints and inquiries, follow documentation and corrective action procedures.

Receptionist/Office Manager

University Games Inc. is looking for a friendly, enthusiastic receptionist and all around go-getter! 

Responsibilities include:

  • Meet and greet all visitors

  • Answer phones and direct calls to appropriate staff members 

  • Back up Customer Service, Sales Coordinator, and other administrative staff as required

  • Handle all incoming consumer requests/complaints (Log in all requests, mail out instructions, puzzle solutions, replacement parts)

  • Serve as initial point of contact for outside game inventors, log and review game submissions

  • Respond to all incoming emails to company public email addresses 

  • Update and distribute employee phone list as well as changes in staff every month

  • Assist in on board facilitation of new employees (set up phone, voicemail, email and add to scanner, phone list, etc.)

  • Maintain front office, kitchen and common areas 

  • Log incoming packages and distribute mail

  • UPS/FedEx Shipping Champion (handle all inquiries, serve as administrator, assist with Commercial Invoices and notify staff of any changes)

  • Maintain public calendar of staff whereabouts/update whiteboard

  • Generate POs and order all office stationary and equipment supplies 

  • Maintain supplies at all stations (toner and paper) and arrange for repair for office equipment as needed (printers and postage machine)

  • Assist Product Managers with proof-reading, research and data entry as required

  • Assist with organization of company parties and events

  • Provide administrative support for the COO as required

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum three years Reception/Administrative support experience

  • Professional demeanor and positive attitude

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail

  • Flexibility in a growing and evolving professional environment

  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and Word; and ability to troubleshoot for our office staff

General Job Responsibilities

  • Producing written information for customers, often involving use of computer packages/software

  • Writing reports analyzing the customer service that your organization provides

  • Developing feedback or complaints procedures for customers to use

  • Developing customer service procedures, policies and standards for your organization or department

  • Meeting with other managers to discuss possible improvements to customer service

  • Being involved in staff recruitment and appraisals

  • Training staff to deliver a high standard of customer service

  • Process and manage all EDI transactions (Purchase Orders, Advanced Ship Notices, and Invoicing) and associated software

General Manager/Product Manager – Games Leadership

 

The primary goal of this position is to lead one of our Games Divisions.  This person will be responsible for a broad range of marketing and product management responsibilities including developing product strategy, creating product specifications, determining marketing programs and sales strategies, and managing product lifecycle.  It is truly a general management role. 

The right candidate will be a classically trained marketer with a proven track record of developing and launching new products; creating, executing and managing marketing campaigns; experience in preparing major retailer presentations; and use of data analytics to drive decisions.  Additionally, marketing experience in a small company environment is also valuable.  

Key Responsibilities  

  • Develop and execute a Marketing Strategy and Marketing Plan that is based upon a thorough understanding of the Games product line, the market, competitive landscape and consumer needs.

  • Develop and execute new product rollout plans including product/concept refinement, market research, positioning, packaging design, volume and financial forecasting, trade and consumer promotion planning, and marketing program development.

  • Hands-on leadership, “roll up your sleeves” efforts with the team to develop marketing programs, promotions, public relations, trade shows, advertising, packaging updates, new packaging, and collateral development.

  • Develop long-range product strategies, determining new product opportunities through analysis of the external marketplace, customers and competitors to meet profitability targets.

  • Drive rigorous category and consumer evaluation process including review and analysis of: consumer/trends, category competition, global competition, and key play patterns.

  • Work with the Company’s external marketing partners: public relations, social media, etc.

  • Monitor business activity (sell through data, promotions, competitive activity, budget, etc.) using both internal sales data and observations techniques in order to make recommendations and optimize the effectiveness of the tactical plan.

  • Closely coordinate with the sales team regarding sales initiatives and promotions, new items, broker requirements, demos, trade shows, and other initiatives as necessary.

  • Monitor and update the “open-to-buy” and overall purchase plan in collaboration with the Controller and Purchasing Manager. Work with Finance and Sales to improve data analytics to enhance major account retention, customer community-building programs and to identify new revenue opportunities across product lines and the customer base in different segments.

  • Lifecycle management of product portfolio; manage the merchandising of existing products.

  • Strong cross-functional experience liaising with Sales, Operations, Finance, Creative, Customer Service, etc.

  • Strong new product development experience (due diligence, brand development and positioning, launch management, etc.)
