Sleuths from University Games Launch MMO, A New Category in Mystery Games

SAN FRANCISCO, November 21, 2019 --There are plenty of clues to explain why University Games is the leader in mystery games. Having launched Murder Mystery Party™ games 35 years ago and pioneering a category, the company is proud to announce today the launch of Murder Mystery Party Case Files - Unsolved Crimes™, introducing yet another category of mystery games - Motive, Means and Opportunity - or MMO games. MMO games put the player or players at the center of the game as detectives exploring realistic cold case evidence files. Underwood Cellars, the first MMO case, launches in Spring 2020. This title focuses on the case of Barry Underwood, founder of Underwood Cellars Winery, whose body was recently revealed by a major earthquake.

“In the evolution of Murder Mystery Party games, then escape room games, the next trend is in deductive logic party games,” said Bob Moog, President of University Games. Two more Murder Mystery Party Case Files will launch in Fall 2020 with seven more to follow in the next 18 months.

The launch of this new game category also coincides with University Games’ 35th anniversary in 2020, taking the company back to its mystery game roots. University Games is planning a substantial TV, digital and print advertising campaign to support the product line.
