The drought was drying everything up, including the lakes. When the waters in Vichy Lake (or Lake Vichy, if you prefer) started to recede, Cary’s car turned up— but without Cary in it. So who drove it to the lake, and how did he/she leave? (And don’t try to make it easy for yourself by saying two people were working together.)
