Sort it Out! Named “Game of the Year” Finalist

San Francisco-(November 24^th, 2009)-Every couple of years, a board game comes along that sends a jolt through the toy industry. This game successfully taps into our collective cultural awareness and energizes people to come together to play. University Games’ Sort it Out!Ô, the game of putting things in order, has the potential to be that game.

The Toy Industry Association has confirmed Sort it Out!’s allure by naming it one of the seven finalists for Game of the Year. With an addictive premise, outstanding reviews, and clues that come from every facet of American culture, Sort it Out! is the most exciting game of the season.

Sort it Out! asks players to arrange lists of measurements, events, weights, and stages into the correct sequence using colored tiles and a personal tile holder. By inviting players to interact with facts as they compete for points and race to the finish, Sort it Out! is destined to become a new family classic. The Toy Industry Association’s Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards selects their finalists from dozens of nominations and displays them to the public at www.ToyAwards.org. Known as the “Oscars” of the North American toy industry, TOTY holds an awards ceremony in February to “bring colleagues together to salute the “best of the best” and celebrate the success, creativity and playful spirit of toys and play.”
